I am not going to lie, it is a workout and I am definitely feeling the soreness today, but it is worth it.
The adventure started at eight in the morning while we paddled our way out of Oleta and into the open ocean. The first stop was at a nearby island where one could eat, relax, and explore the territory. Then it was off to a rocky beach right by the FIU campus that is in North Miami. Lastly, after the tide lowered, we were off to the famous Haulover Sandbar. At the sandbar one can dock the kayak and go for a swim.
If you’d like to kayak at Oleta and don’t have your own kayak, you can always rent one there and you can find the rates here. For 3 hours, which I think is more than enough time; you can rent a single kayak for $41 or a tandem kayak for $51 dollars.
If you are looking for something to do with what is left of spring break, I’d encourage you to go on this venture because not only is it fun but you also get a great workout.
Now it is on to bicycle boating my way to the sandbar for muscle symmetry. Ba-dum-tss!
*Thanks to my friend Eri for the kayak.
All the video was done with a GoPro 3+ Black Edition. I used the QuickClip and attached it to the visor on my cap.
An iPhone 5s was used for the first and last photograph in the video.
Final Cut Pro was used as the editing software.
